More than 800,000 training opportunities completed by the National Training Campaign (Waad) in partnership with the private sector to train and qualify national cadres during 2023

The National Training Campaign “Waad” initiative of the Ministry of Human Resources and Social Development achieved more than 74% of its total target, and the final goals of the campaign by the end of 2025 AD constitute the provision of 1,155,000 training opportunities, as this comes within the Ministry’s training strategy to support and train national cadres in partnership with the private sector.

During 2023, the initiative succeeded in providing more than 863,675 thousand training opportunities for national cadres, as the initiative achieved during the second half of 2023 more than 670 thousand training opportunities, while the campaign completed during the first half more than 193,261 thousand training opportunities through partnership and cooperation with 14 national facilities, namely: "SABIC, Saudi Telecom Company stc, Arab National Bank, Walaa Cooperative Insurance Company, Saudi Electricity Company, Almarai Company, Nesma & Partners, Abdul Mohsen Al-Hokair Group for Tourism and Development, Aqwat Company, McDonald's Saudi Arabia, Zain Saudi Arabia, Al-Rabie Company, Abdullah Al-Othaim Investment Company, Mobily Company. SABIC, STC and Arab National Bank have succeeded in achieving more than targets for the campaign for the next three years during 2023. This was achieved Through several tracks of the campaign, most notably the path of the regions, where a series of forums were launched in the northern border region in the city of Arar under the patronage and presence of His Royal Highness the Emir of the region, and 35,000 training opportunities have been allocated to the region. The second forum was then launched in the Eastern Province at the King Abdulaziz Cultural Center (Ithra), with the honor and presence of the Emir of the region and His Excellency the Deputy Minister of Human Resources and Social Development for Labor, through which 100,000 training opportunities were allocated to the citizens of the region.

The Ministry of Human Resources and Social Development, through “Waad”, is eager to improve the labor market and achieve Saudi Vision 2030 by supporting, qualifying, and training national cadres, and has established seven criteria for national enterprise participation in the campaign, the most important of which is training 12% of Saudis each year.

Notably, the Ministry aims to give all beneficiaries of the nation's sons and daughters additional opportunities to develop future skills through "Waad," taking into account their orientation toward a dynamic and possible society as well as a distinguished work environment toward an appealing labor market.
