The Ministry of Human Resources and Social Development began today, Sunday, 16 Dhu Al-Qi’dah 1447 AH, implementing its field inspection campaigns for this year’s Hajj season as part of an intensive regulatory program targeting more than (6,000) field inspection visits across Makkah, Madinah, and the Holy Sites. The campaigns aim to monitor the compliance of establishments operating during the season with labor market regulations and instructions, particularly those related to temporary work visas, the Labor Law, and its executive regulations.
The inspection campaigns were launched with the participation of the Ministry’s Deputy Minister for Inspection and Work Environment Development, Mr. Sattam Al Harbi, who followed up on the progress of field inspection activities and reviewed the readiness of inspection teams. The visits include field tours in the central area of the Grand Mosque, inspections of establishments holding temporary work visas for Hajj services, and reviews of inspection operations, in addition to monitoring activities at key entry points, including Jeddah Islamic Port and King Abdulaziz International Airport.
These regulatory efforts are being carried out in coordination with several government entities, including the Ministry of Interior, the Ministry of Commerce, the Holy Capital Municipality, and the Oversight and Anti-Corruption Authority “Nazaha”. This cooperation contributes to enhancing field coordination efficiency, accelerating the detection and resolution of violations, and ensuring comprehensive oversight of various activities throughout the Hajj season.
These inspection tours come as a part of the Ministry’s efforts to strengthen compliance among private sector establishments during the season through field inspections conducted by regulatory teams. The campaigns focus on verifying the implementation of approved regulations and instructions, supporting organized work environments, and ensuring the efficient operation of seasonal activities. The inspections also monitor establishments’ compliance with regulations governing temporary workforce operations during Hajj, ensure the protection of workers’ rights, and verify the application of occupational safety and health standards. These efforts contribute to workplace stability, reduce violations, and ensure the delivery of integrated and safe services to the Guests of Allah. They also help raise awareness among employers and workers regarding the importance of compliance through direct guidance during inspection visits, supporting the creation of an organized work environment that meets seasonal requirements and reflects the Kingdom’s commitment to providing high-quality services.
The Ministry affirmed that it shall continue intensifying its inspection activities in coordination with relevant entities throughout the Hajj season. These efforts aim to improve operational efficiency, enhance the quality of services provided, protect the rights of all parties, and support an integrated system that contributes to the success of the season and delivers an outstanding experience for the Guests of Allah.
