Article (151):

  1. The working woman has the right to maternity leave with full pay for a period of (twelve) weeks, of which the six weeks following the delivery are mandatory, and she may distribute the remaining six weeks as she deems fit, starting from four weeks before the likely date of delivery. The likely date of delivery shall be determined by a medical certificate certified by a health authority. In the event that the remaining period of the leave is less than (six) weeks as a result of the delay of the delivery from its likely date, the complementary period shall be counted as leave without pay. In all cases, the working woman shall have the right to extend this leave (one month) without pay. 

  2. A working woman - in the event of the birth of a sick child or a child with special needs whose health condition requires a constant companion - has the right to a one-month leave with full pay starting after the end of the maternity leave period, and she has the right to extend the leave for a month without pay.

Article (160):

  1. A Muslim working woman whose husband dies is entitled to fully paid waiting period leave for a period of no less than four months and ten days from the date of death. She has the right to extend this leave without pay if she is pregnant during this period until she gives birth. She may not use the remainder of the maternity leave granted to her under this law after giving birth.

  2. A non-Muslim working woman whose husband dies is entitled to leave with full pay for a period of fifteen days.

The widow shall not be allowed to perform any work with third a party during this period.

The employer shall be entitled to request supporting documents for the cases referred to.
