HRSD Deputy Minister for Labor, Dr. Abdullah bin Nasser Abu Thaneen, met H.E., the ILO’s Regional Director for Arab States, Dr. Ruba Jarada. During the meeting, joint cooperation was addressed between both parties which strengthens ties between the HRSF and the ILO.

The meeting reviewed several topics of common interest. The Most eminent of such topic was phase 2 of the Joint Cooperation Project between the HRSD and the ILO for supporting the Ministry in analyzing labor policies and building abilities in the fields of the HRSD's works. This phase is complementary to the success of the cooperation project and program with the ILO which began in the year 2018.

The Regional Office praised the role of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia in the International Labor Organization (ILO) and its efforts as an original member of the ILO’s Governing Body for the session 2021 - 2024, indicating the Ministry’s efforts, initiatives and achievements for reducing unemployment rates and increasing the rate of Saudis’ engagement in the Saudi labor market
