Minister of Labor and Social Development Eng. Ahmed Bin Sulaiman Al-Rajhi said that the ministry is working on a number of initiatives and projects aimed at developing the non-profit sector and raising the level of the sector's contribution to national development. During his meeting with the leaders of the non-profit sector on Wednesday at the headquarters of the Social Development Center in Buraidah, Qassim, Al-Rajhi pointed out that the ministry has more than 950 licensed associations and aims this year and next year to double the number of associations in different regions, Associations, and focus on specialized ones. Al-Rajhi said that the ministry has entered into agreements with a number of government agencies in order to facilitate the granting of licenses to associations not to exceed 60 days, in addition to establishing a fund aimed at achieving financial sustainability of the associations. For his part, Undersecretary of the Ministry of Labor and Social Development for Social Development, Mr. Suleiman bin Abdul Aziz Al Zaban, gave a wide presentation on the reality of the non-profit sector organizations in the Kingdom, the roles played by them, the percentage of diversity in NGOs, and the emphasis on specialized societies in order to raise the level and impact, He addressed the associations in the Qassim region. He also reviewed the challenges facing the non-profit sector, the creation of incentives for the sector, the main potentials of the non-profit sector, and the non-profit sector initiatives within the national transformation program by encouraging volunteerism, enhancing corporate social responsibility, supporting sector growth and enabling non-profit organizations to achieve A deeper impact, and the national portal for volunteerism and indicators to be achieved. The minister then launched the positive house competition, which is supervised by the region's positive initiative.
