Under the Patronage of HRSD Minister... 6 Government Entities Honored for Excellence in Saudization of O&M Contracts

Under the patronage of H.E. Minister of Human Resources and Social Development, Engineer Ahmed bin Sulaiman Al-Rajhi, a ceremony was organized in Riyadh, on Tuesday, January, 23, 2023, to honor the government entities that made distinctive achievements in the Saudization of Operation and Maintenance contracts in public entities. The ceremony was attended by Vice-Minister for Labor Sector H.E. Dr. Abdulla Nasser Abuthnain and a number of leaders of the Steering Committee for the Saudization of the sector and the honored entities.

The 6 entities were honored for the application of the excellence standards and best practices to fulfill the requirements of Saudization and enhance the attractiveness of the jobs thereof. The honored entities included the Ministry of National Guard, Ministry of Health, Ministry of Sports, the Royal Commission for Jubail and Yanbu, Alahsaa Municipality, and King Abdulaziz University

In his address at the opening of the ceremony, H.E. Abuthnain, praised the efforts of the government entities to empower the men and woman of the Kingdom and to enhance their capabilities and skills in the O&M sector through the fulfillment of the Saudization requirements, as well as the integration with partner entities in order to achieve national objectives, and improve the sector’s work environment, efficiency and effectiveness.

He explained that the O&M sector’s Saudization efforts have resulted in the employment of more than 160,000 male and female nationals since 2019. More than 4,000 Saudis have also received training in various administrative and technical specialties. In addition, the Saudization percentage in the targeted job levels was upped to 35%. 

The Vice-Minister also highlighted the efforts of the Steering Committee for Saudization of the sector in 2023, to encourage the public entities to benefit from the enablers and tracks approved for the development and empowerment of the national workforce, as well as the enhancement of their capabilities and benefitting from the available administrative and technical opportunities. Among such efforts was the launch of the service of the O&M contracts Saudization via the Qiwa Platform and the launch of the first knowledge platform, intended to enrich the Arabic Content in the Management of Assets and Facilities and the issuance of the second version of the O&M Contract Saudization Manual.

In his address, delivered on his behalf by Deputy CEO for Assets and Facilities Eng. Turki bin Ahmed Bukhari, the CEO of the Government Expenditure & Projects Efficiency Authority (EXPRO) Eng. Abdul Razzaq bin Subhi Alaujan praised the efforts of partner entities in job Saudization in the field of government O&M Contracts, indicating that the achievements realized exceeded the objectives of training and Saudization, especially in contributing to the Vision 2030 goals in the field of job creation and investment in human capital. It also gave the Saudis the chance to participate in the  economic prosperity of the nation.

He also commended the efforts of the government entities and the high level of commitment they showed to the requirements of Saudization. He praised the successful partnership between the government entities and the private sector companies working in the field, as well as the efforts of the Steering Committee for the Saudization of O&M Contracts, led by the Ministry of Human Resources and Social Development and att the other supporting team.

The ceremony included the presentation of the most prominent achievements in the field of Saudization of the O&M Contracts in public entities in 2023, as well as the follow-up and support efforts for the process. It also included the presentation of a number of success stories of young men and women working in various disciplines in the O&M field.

As part of the ceremony, H.E. the Vice-Minister launched the Buna knowledge platform, which aims to enrich the Arabic content in the field of management of assets and facilities, through offering a variety of audio, visual, and textual content in order to enhance the efficiency of sector workers. This represents a major part of the sustainable development vision of the O&M Sector.
