MLSD organizes training course aimed at developing sport trainers who work at orphan and juvenile shelter houses

The Ministry of labor and Social Development organized on Sunday the first training course to rehabilitate sports trainers working at shelter houses for orphans and delinquents, which is led by the General Department of Programs & Activities at MLSD in cooperation with the Sport Sciences & Physical Activity College at the King Saud University. The five-day course which is taking place at the college’s facility is being under the patronage of General Supervisor for Social Care and Family Eng. Al-Hejab Al-Hazmi. Dr Mohammad Faqihi, deputy head of academic affairs at the college, delivered his welcome speech, followed by a thanking speech from Mr. Mohammad Algesayr, general manager for programs and activities at MLSD, to the college’s management for their invaluable contribution to conduct this course. Meanwhile, the course has morning and evening sessions as the participants receive both theoretical and practical training. It aims to prepare sport trainers working at orphan and juvenile houses and raise their effectiveness in dealing with psychological and mental aspects of inmates as well as discovering and developing their talents. A total of 35 trainers from 32 shelter houses in different parts of the Kingdom are currently participating in the course, including social observation houses, social guidance houses and social education institutions. The ministry is keen to organize such courses aimed at developing the social cadre and improving various services provided to the beneficiaries.
