MLSD and several entities chair 12th session of Saudi Arabia -Bangladesh joint committee

The 12th session of the Saudi Arabia -Bangladesh joint committee commenced yesterday (Wednesday), which was chaired by the Ministry of Labor and Social Development and several government entities aiming to intensify bilateral relations and deepen cooperation between the two countries. At the beginning of the two-day committee, Dr. Abdulaziz al-Amr, general supervisor for international labor affairs, delivered a welcome speech, expressing his appreciation for the effective participation in the 11th session of the Saudi Arabia -Bangladesh joint committee, which was held in Dhaka in 2015 and yielded exchange of experience and visits between the two sides. Dr. al-Amr announced the activation of joint committees starting from the date of the current session in order to ensure beneficial cooperation between the two sides, wishing that the current session of the joint committee would expand new means of cooperation and lay out a mechanism to move forward and serve the two countries. The general supervisor for international labor affairs commended the outcomes of the bilateral relations that target many fields between the Kingdom and the People's Republic of Bangladesh. Meanwhile, Mr. Kadi Shafeeq, chief of the Bangladesh delegation and deputy minister for economic relations at the Ministry of Finance of Bangladesh, expressed his gratitude for the Saudi hospitality and for the positive support led by Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salam bin Abdulaziz Al Saud- May Allah protect him- towards the people of Bangladesh. The Bangladesh official emphasized the current session of the joint committee will develop the bilateral relations between the two countries in many fields including commercial investment, human resources development, education, IT, telecommunication, religious affairs and security, wishing it will achieve its goals set by the stakeholders from both countries. The members of the joint technical committee which consists of government officials had on Thursday several meetings to discuss multi-faceted cooperation between Saudi Arabia and Bangladesh and explore issues of common interest.
