3,077 inspection rounds target tourist accommodation sector, as well as detecting 596 violations: MLSD

Spokesman of the Ministry of Labor and Social Development Khaled Abalkhail said on Sunday (Jan. 28) the inspection campaigns conducted 3,077 inspection rounds on the tourist accommodation sector, including hotels and furnished apartments in various regions of the Kingdom.
It aims to make sure employers comply with the nationalization decisions, particularly those that keep certain jobs exclusive for Saudi nationals in the sector, added Abalkhail.
Abalkhail clarified the inspection rounds have uncovered compliance of 2,571 establishments which constitute 84 percent of the total number of the inspected establishments, compared to 506 uncompliant ones (16 percent) since the month of Rabi al-thani of the current year.
The spokesman said 529 out of 596 violations were related to the nationalization decisions which represents 89 percent of the total number of violations, as the remaining violations stood at 67 (11 percent).
The spokesman said: ‘The ministry continues to launch its inspection campaigns on a number of sectors including the tourist accommodation sector to ensure their adherence to the nationalization decisions’.
He stressed the ministry is keen to create job opportunities for Saudi men and women who wish to join the sector, highlighting the ministry efforts in nationalizing vital sectors will help achieve the ambitious plan of Saudi Vision 2030 and raise participation rate of Saudi nationals in the workforce.
On the other hand, Abalkhail urged customers to cooperate with the ministry and report nationalization violations through the ‘Ma3an Lil Rasd’ app or contact the unified customer service no. (19911), assuring all reports would be dealt with a prompt respond as the ministry seeks to improve, develop and regulate the labor sector.
