The Ministry of Labor and Social Development (MLSD) announced that the beneficiaries under the social security assistance received on Sunday their lump sum payments including financial support for food and portion of electricity bills for the blessed month of Ramadan.

The ministry said releasing payments came after it combined all financial aids to be sent at once to the beneficiaries’ bank accounts in the beginning of Ramadan.

Dr. Ibrahim Al- Shafiei, deputy minister for social security at the ministry, said the total payments deposited to the beneficiaries’ bank accounts reached SR 1,493,054,591 including food and electricity support.

For the current month of Ramadan, the deposited payments were directly sent to 857.212 beneficiaries with the aim of improving their livening conditions, added Dr. Al- Shafiei.

According to the directive issued by H.E. Minister of Labor and Social Development Ali bin Nasser Al-Ghafis, the ministry merged all types of assistance aids under one account to support the beneficiaries in paying for their food and part of their electricity bills, which was planned to start in Ramadan.
