The Prince of the Eastern Province sponsors the activities of the skills and training forum "Waad"

His Royal Highness Prince Saud bin Nayef bin Abdulaziz, the Governor of the Eastern Province, today sponsored the events of the "Waad" Skills and Training Forum, which is organized by the Ministry of Human Resources and Social Development for two days. The event was attended by His Excellency Dr. Abdullah bin Nasser Abu Thunain, Deputy Minister of Human Resources and Social Development for Labor, and a group of experts and specialists interested in the field of skills and training. The forum took place at the King Abdulaziz Center for World Culture - Ithra in Dhahran. His Highness emphasized the importance of training, developing the capabilities of the country's sons and daughters, and providing them with training opportunities under government supervision and from distinguished training institutions. Also, Prince Saud bin Nayef bin Abdulaziz indicates that the government of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud, and under the supervision of His Royal Highness Prince Mohammed bin Salman bin Abdulaziz, the Crown Prince and Chairman of the Council of Ministers - may God preserve them - has prioritized the care for the youth of the nation, providing everything possible for their training and developing their skills. This aims to achieve more contributions and growth to serve their country and improve the quality of life. His Excellency, the Deputy Minister of Human Resources and Social Development for Labor, Dr. Abdullah Abu Thunain, expressed his gratitude to the Prince of the Eastern Province for sponsoring the forum's activities and continuous support for anything that serves the youth of the region. In his speech during the forum, he emphasized that the skills and training aspect is one of the fundamental pillars supporting the labor market in the Kingdom. He highlighted the efforts of the Human Resources and Social Development system in developing skills, training programs, and initiatives that have contributed to the growth, professional development, and skill enhancement of the national workforce. These include the National Program to encourage the Private Sector, the National Professional Standards Initiative targeting the development of 500 professions and skills, the establishment of 12 sectoral skill councils in key economic sectors, and the launch of the national training campaign "WAAD." The campaign aims to provide more than one million training opportunities by the end of 2025, with 50% of its training targets achieved within less than a year of its launch. At the conclusion of the forum, His Royal Highness, the Prince of the Eastern Province, witnessed the commitment announcement from the "WAAD" program and its partners. The commitment includes targeting and providing more than 100,000 training opportunities for the youth of the Province. The forum aims to shed light on the most important pioneering initiatives in the field of training and skill development. These initiatives are designed to enhance the capabilities of the national workforce, encourage the private sector to contribute to their empowerment, and increase their participation in the job market. The forum includes various activities and initiatives related to training and skill development, workshops, providing training opportunities, and opportunities for skill development and enhancement. Additionally, there will be a meeting for the heads of sectoral skill councils with employers in the Province.
