Minister of HRSD Honors (27) Establishments Winning Third Edition of Labor Award

His Excellency the Minister of Human Resources and Social Development Eng. Ahmed bin Sulaiman Al Rajhi honored today 27 establishments that won the third edition of the labor award, as part of the efforts to enhance role of distinguished establishments in the private sector and their part they play in raising Saudization rates, in compliance with the standards of the innovative and attractive work environment, and investing in the development of their human capital, in line with the kingdom's Vision 2030. The celebration also is in conjunction with the Global Labor Market Conference held in Riyadh, in the presence of International Labor Ministers and a number of Ministers and senior officials.

In his address, Minister Al Rajhi explained that the labor award aims to increase the empowerment of citizens to obtain career opportunities, through the creation of attractive and encouraging work models, in addition to encouraging the private sector to increase Saudization rates, enhance compliance with the standards of the work environment, and encourage the establishments to invest in the development of their national human capital.

His Excellency added that this year a new category has been added to the award, namely the CEO category, confirming that successful leaders are those who invest in themselves and their establishments, and work hard to achieve progress and continuous development.

The Minister added that the award is based on essential principles, including inclusiveness and familiarity with all organizational levels, taking into account the differences between establishments’ sizes, level of work and production> He reiterated that the award is not the ultimate goal, but rather a means of further improvement and growth, and enhances the positive and productive work environment in the kingdom.

More than 88,000 establishments in the private sector competed for 27 awards distributed over 4 categories, namely: The Saudization category which includes 13 awards, the work environment category, which includes 7 awards, the skills and training category, which includes 4 awards, and the CEO category which includes 3 awards.

More than 1,000,000 employees participated in the evaluation questionnaire. The third edition of the labor award introduced the CEO category, in order to enhance the leadership role of private sector establishments, and in recognition of their efforts to promote and develop business and the capabilities of national human capital.

The Award was given to:  Mr. Obaid Al Rasheed, CEO of Arab Bank, was awarded the Best CEO of giant enterprises award, and M.Salman al-Badran, Mobily CEO, was awarded the best CEO of large enterprises award, and M. Fahad Al Matrafi, was awarded the the best CEO of SMEs.

The Saudi mobile telecommunications company Zain won the Saudization award for the ICT sector, and "Aqalat Limited" won the Saudization award for the real estate and contracting sector, while "Dar Al Tamleek company" won the Saudization award for the finance and insurance sector, the Saudization award for the education sector was for the "National Company for education", the Saudization award for the health sector was for the "National Health Care company", and the Saudization award for the industry, energy and mining sector was given to "Ma'aden and Barik Copper Company", and "Medtronic Saudi Arabia company" won the Saudization award for the wholesale and retail, and "Najm Insurance Services company" won the Saudization award for the business services sector، "SAL Saudi logistics company" won the Saudization award for the transport and logistics sector.

The "Benchmark for Exhibitions and Conferences Oragization" won the Saudizationaward for the arts and entertainment sector, , "Al Sarh for Tourism and Travel" won the Saudization award for the travel and tourism sector, while the Saudization award for the food and beverage sector was received by "Half-A-Million Beverage company", and the Saudization award for the media sector was awarded to "Nas Al-Maana” company for advertisement".

As for the distinguished work environment, “Elm” company received the distinguished work environment award for giant and large enterprises, “Hamat” real estate company received the best work environment award for SMEs; the work environment award for people with disabilities for giant and large enterprises for was given to "Alinma Bank", and "Fabco” plastics factory Company Limited for SMEs.

The Pioneers of Occupational Safety and Health Award for giant and large enterprises was for "Sadara chemicals company", and for small and medium enterprises" Saudi ethylene and polyethylene company-Manufacturing", while the Ideal House award was for Nesma and their partners for Contracting Ltd., and the award for the best on-the-job training program for giant and large enterprises for "Arab National Bank", and the Saudi Spring Food Company" for SMEs. 
As for the award for the best training program for students and graduates, it was won by both: Saudi telecom company STC for giant and large enterprises and Abrag telecom company for SMEs.
