The National Training Campaign “Waad”, launched by the Ministry of Human Resources and Social Development, continues to achieve further successes that reinforce its position as one of the prominent national initiatives aimed at investing in human capital. The campaign successfully met its ambitious targets in the first phase by establishing wide-ranging partnerships with both the public and private sectors, and by developing specialized training programs that respond to the changes in the labor market and its future requirements, thereby solidifying its pivotal role in achieving the objectives of Saudi Vision 2030.

First Phase.. Results and Achievements Exceed Expectations

The first phase of the campaign achieved results that exceeded expectations, providing more than 1,550,000 training opportunities within a record timeframe. It also organized a series of successful training forums across multiple regions of the Kingdom, including Makkah, Jazan, the Eastern Province, and the Northern Borders, with wide participation from both the public and private sectors. During this phase, the campaign focused on delivering high-quality training through over 52 specialized workshops and launching advanced initiatives in vital fields such as industry, cybersecurity, artificial intelligence, and modern technologies. Additionally, 14 leading private sector establishments were engaged to contribute to investing in national cadres.

Second Phase.. Geographic Expansion and Reaching Over 3 Million Training Opportunities

In December 2024, the second phase of the “Waad” Training Campaign was launched with ambitious objectives, including expanding its geographic reach to six new regions: Najran, Al-Baha, Asir, Hail, Madinah, and Qassim. This phase is implemented in partnership with more than 60 partner establishments and engages leading private sector entities to invest in human capital and strengthen the economy through workforce development and training. The campaign aims in this phase to reach over 3 million training opportunities by 2028, in order to align training outcomes with labor market needs, increase professional development opportunities, and encourage establishments to invest in national cadres.

The initiative was awarded the Sharjah Government Communication Award in the category of Best Campaigns for Positively Influencing Youth Awareness and Practices, out of 2,600 entries from 37 competing countries. Waad exemplifies a distinguished model of positive impact through collaboration between the public and private sectors.

The Skills and Training Forum in the Najran region takes the lead among the forums of the second phase. The Ministry organized the Najran Forum on 16 September, featuring 14 training workshops and 19 accompanying booths, in addition to specialized sessions covering important topics such as small and medium enterprise management, fundamentals of artificial intelligence, eco-tourism, and entrepreneurship. This reflects the Ministry’s commitment to equipping national cadres with the skills of the future.
