Riyadh will host the Ministerial Meeting on Monday, 26 January 2026, as part of the third edition of the Global Labor Market Conference, held under the patronage of the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques, King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud – may Allah protect him – under the theme “Shaping the Future,” at the King Abdulaziz International Conference Center. The meeting will bring together 40 labor ministers from around the world, aiming to enhance practical responses to the key developments currently shaping labor markets.

The Ministerial Meeting, held as part of the third edition of the conference, focuses on moving from dialogue to implementation. Ministers will discuss practical, immediately implementable employment pathways, exchange international best practices, and explore ways to strengthen multilateral international cooperation in skill development, technology adoption, job quality, and social protection, thereby contributing to more resilient labor markets.

For his part, Eng. Ahmed bin Sulaiman Al Rajhi, Minister of Human Resources and Social Development, stated: “The Ministerial Meeting represents a unique and important opportunity to leverage the accumulated knowledge and expertise of participating countries and translate it into tangible, practical cooperation. Through the gathering of ministers and international partners, we strengthen collaboration, exchange successful policy models, and work on developing regulatory frameworks that enhance work environments, boost competitiveness, and support labor market resilience. The impact of these efforts will not be limited to advancing the Saudi labor market alone, but will also contribute to creating a positive and sustainable effect on labor systems worldwide.”

The Ministerial Meeting is held under the chairmanship of Eng. Ahmed bin Sulaiman Al Rajhi, Minister of Human Resources and Social Development, with the participation of Mr. Gilbert Houngbo, Director-General of the International Labour Organization, as part of the Global Labor Market Conference, taking place in Riyadh from 26 to 27 January. The conference is organized by the Ministry of Human Resources and Social Development in strategic partnership with a number of international organizations.

This Ministerial Meeting serves as a strategic global platform for exchanging insights and expertise on the future of labor markets, building upon the outcomes of previous editions of the meeting, which resulted in eight pathways for reshaping labor markets.
