His Highness Prince Jalawi bin Abdulaziz bin Musaed, Governor of Najran Region, today sponsored the “Waad” Skills and Training Forum, organized by the Ministry of Human Resources and Social Development. The event was attended by His Excellency Dr. Abdullah bin Nasser Abuthnain, Deputy Minister of Human Resources and Social Development for Labor, along with a number of experts, specialists, and stakeholders in the fields of skills and training, and included participation from various entities in both the public and private sectors. The forum was held at the Events and Conferences Center.
Upon his arrival, His Highness inaugurated the exhibition accompanying the event, which featured visual displays and digital screens highlighting the Ministry’s achievements, initiatives, and programs aimed at developing human capital and its various professional fields. The exhibition also included informational booths for several sectors involved in training and the qualification and development of national cadres.
His Excellency the Deputy Minister of Human Resources and Social Development for Labor stated that the second edition of the National Training Campaign “Waad” comes with ambitious targets to implement 3 million training opportunities by 2028. The campaign includes several key activities, including regional forums, with the forum featuring scientific dialogue sessions and specialized workshops covering a variety of topics, including modern technologies to professional development strategies. In turn, Dr. Ahmed Al-Zahrani, Undersecretary of the Ministry of Human Resources for Skills and Training, reviewed the incentives and initiatives the Ministry has provided to develop the labor market, the changes facing the labor market, training policies and incentives, and the skills required in the labor market. He also highlighted the achievements of the National Campaign “Waad,” the main activities accompanying the forum in the region, and the accomplishments of the Ministry’s branch in the Najran region.
Following this, His Highness the Governor of Najran Region witnessed the signing of several agreements with a number of entities, most notably the Technical and Vocational Training Corporation, Bin Harkil Trading Company Ltd., Al-Masar Mining Company Ltd., and Al-Masane Al-Kobra Mining Company (AMAK), to cooperate in supporting practical training pathways and enhancing the skills required in the regional labor market.
At the conclusion of the ceremony, His Highness honored the participating and supporting entities of the “Waad” National Training Campaign in the region.
It is noteworthy that the forum provides over 30,000 diverse training opportunities in the Najran region until 2028 AD, aimed at meeting the needs of the local labor market. This is part of the ongoing efforts of the Ministry of Human Resources and Social Development to activate regional forums, develop skills, and enhance the competitiveness of the labor market and national workforce both locally and internationally. These efforts contribute to achieving the objectives of Saudi Vision 2030 and empower national cadres to lead the Kingdom’s ongoing economic and social transformation.
