His Royal Highness Prince Abdulaziz ibn Saad ibn Abdulaziz, Governor of Hail Province, sponsored, in Al-Maghwa Park today, the opening ceremony of the Skills and Training Forum "Waad", in the presence of His Royal Highness Prince Faisal ibn Fahd ibn Muqrin ibn Abdulaziz, Deputy Governor of the Province, and His Excellency the Deputy Minister of Human Resources and Social Development Dr. Abdullah ibn Nasser Abu Thnain.
His Highness the Governor of the Province toured the exhibition accompanying the forum, familiar with the pillars of the participating parties and the training and qualification programs they offer, and then the speech ceremony accompanying the forum began.
In his speech during the ceremony, Dr. Abu Thnain stressed that the establishment of the forum in Hail under the patronage of His Highness the Governor of the Province reflects the interest in developing the skills of youth, and providing qualitative training related to the needs of the labor market and modern and emerging fields, indicating that the human resources and social development system worked in cooperation with government agencies and the private sector to develop the labor market strategy in line with future changes, emphasizing the increase in the number of Saudis in the private sector to more than 2.5 million Saudis, and the expansion of Saudization opportunities in many qualitative professions.
He pointed out that the ministry has activated modern work patterns, as flexible work contracts have exceeded 700,000 contracts since its launch, in addition to more than 315,000 other work contracts, while more than 430,000 young men and women have benefited from self-employment platforms, and strategic initiatives have been launched, most notably the Career and Skills Planning Initiative, and the "Skills Accelerator" initiative, which aims to train 300,000 male and female employees on the job in the private sector. He pointed out that the forum is witnessing the launch of the second edition of the national training campaign "Waad", which aims to provide 3 million training opportunities by 2028, which includes forums and training programs in various regions of the Kingdom.
Soon after that, a visual presentation was presented on the achievements and initiatives of the training and skills sector in the Ministry. The Undersecretary, Dr. Ahmed ibn Abdullah Al-Zahrani, reviewed the most prominent initiatives in this field, while the Director General of Skills Planning, Ahmed Hamdi, presented a practical application for designing a personal skills plan according to sectoral frameworks.
His Highness the Governor of Hail launched the national training campaign in the region, and witnessed the signing of a number of cooperation agreements between the campaign and private sector establishments, with the aim of providing training opportunities for the youth of the region. At the end of the ceremony, His Highness honored the partners of success participating in the organization of the forum.
The national training campaign is an extension of the efforts of the Ministry of Human Resources and Social Development in spreading the culture of training and developing the skills of the people of the country. The forum provided 40,000 training opportunities dedicated to the people of the region until 2028, in addition to the implementation of 12 training workshops, with the participation of 12 government and private entities, the presence reached more than 1500 visitors.
The forum is an extension of the "Waad" forums previously organized in Makkah Al-Mukarramah, the Eastern Province, Jazan, the northern border and Najran, which witnessed the provision of more than 60 qualitative training workshops, the benefit of more than 14,500 visitors, and the participation of 60 entities from the public and private sectors, within the objectives of reaching 3 million training opportunities by 2028.
