The Ministry of Human Resources and Social Development today launched the activities of “Skills Week” in conjunction with the World Youth Skills Day, under the theme: “Skills First.”

This week comes as an extension of the Ministry’s efforts to develop the skills system, support investment in national human capital, and enhance the readiness of national cadres to meet the demands of both the local and global labor markets, in alignment with the goals of Saudi Vision 2030.

“Skills Week” aims to highlight distinguished national initiatives that contribute to enhancing the efficiency, competitiveness, and productivity of the Saudi labor market. It focuses on empowering youth and refining their skills to strengthen their competitiveness in the labor market. This is achieved through a range of national initiatives established to plan and identify skills, coordinate efforts, and direct training activities toward labor market needs, all in partnership with the private sector.

His Excellency Dr. Ahmed bin Abdullah Al-Zahrani, Deputy Minister for Skills and Training, affirmed that the launch of “Skills Week” coinciding with World Youth Skills Day and embodies the Ministry’s commitment to rehabilitating national cadres to keep pace with the rapid transformations in the labor market. He added:

“This week represents an important milestone in showcasing the Kingdom’s efforts to build an integrated national skills system, in collaboration with our partners from various sectors. Through these initiatives, we aim to support the transition toward a skills-based labor market by implementing the skills strategy, establishing a national skills framework, equipping national cadres with the necessary technical and vocational skills, and ensuring the alignment of education and training outcomes with the current and future needs of the labor market.”

His Excellency concluded by affirming that the Ministry will continue to develop specialized initiatives in the field of skills that support the competitiveness of both the labor market and citizens locally and internationally. This effort contributes to achieving the goals of Vision 2030 and empowers national cadres to lead the economic and social transformation witnessed by the Kingdom.
