His Excellency the Minister of Human Resources and Social Development, Eng. Ahmed bin Suleiman Al Rajhi, presented the second edition of the Corporate Social Responsibility Award, which comes as an extension of the Ministry’s efforts to enable sustainable practices and enhance the role of the private sector in serving the community and achieving national development goals.
In his speech, His Excellency emphasized that the wise leadership - may Allah support it - has given great attention to social responsibility, culminating in the adoption of Social Responsibility Day in the Kingdom on March 23 of each year, and the organization of the Global CSR Forum. Moreover, he pointed out that these initiatives have contributed to consolidating a culture of corporative giving and strengthening partnerships between all sectors. His Excellency the Minister explained that the percentage of major companies offering social responsibility programs has increased to approximately 72%, while the value of development initiatives and contributions from companies through the National Social Responsibility Platform has exceeded 5 billion riyals. This reflects the private sector's awareness of the importance of its role in supporting development and achieving the goals of Saudi Vision 2030.
At the end of the ceremony, His Excellency the Minister expressed his gratitude and appreciation to the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques and His Royal Highness the Crown Prince – may God protect them – for their continuous support for the path of development and giving.He praised the efforts of the private sector and its active partnership in serving society, congratulating the award winners this year and wishing them continued success and further contribution to sustainable development.
