Inspection rounds aim at rental car shops, uncovering compliance of 9,899 establishments and 474 violations: MLSD
Publication date: 21 September 2022 - 25 Safar 1444In cooperation with the government entities, the Ministry of Labor and Social Development (MLSD) conducted 10,919 inspection rounds on car rental shops across various regions of the Kingdom to make sure employers comply with the decision aiming to nationalize the car rental sector. The total nationalization of the car rental sector which has come into effect since March 18 in all regions of the Kingdom has targeted specific jobs in accounting, supervision, sales, delivery and shipping. Khaled Abalkhail, spokesman for MLSD, said the inspection rounds have uncovered 9,899 law-abiding establishments since the date of enforcement compared to 364 establishments failing to comply with the decision. During the crackdown, the inspection campaigns detected 474 violations, including 308 nationalization violations and 166 violations related to other labor issues, Abalkhail pointed out. The spokesman urged customers to report labor violations or submit inquires through contacting the Customer Service no. (19911) or using the ‘Ma3an Lil Rasd’ app on smart phones. Meanwhile, the sectoral enforcement also gives no exception for any establishment either mega, large, medium or small-sized.
